No. What sucks is not having people to share the hobby with. I know. I did it for 13 years and wasn't really enjoying it. It became fun when I found local people to share the hobby with. Good luck.

Was just a bit of ribbing at the start. I'd have to say, if you don't have a good sense of humor and the right personality to give it back every once in awhile, you may have a hard time on the message boards. That being said, humor doesn't generally work on message boards due to how the reader interprets it, which could be different then how the writer intended it to sound. Spend some time in the beginners section, make mistakes, learn, cry a little, and you'll be alright in the long run.

I can testify to the warm reception, both online and in person, from the Northcoast Reefers. I was made to feel welcome at my first meeting and indeed went home with a neat frag (A. Carduus, thanks again Jeff!). And Mike was very hospitable and extremely generous, showing me his set up and giving me some of his sweet plating coral frags (and a cute zoa too!)

While I've had fresh water fish tanks forever and salt water fish tanks for a number of years, I am new to reef keeping and am looking forward to learning more from these people.

Thanks to everyone for my positive initial experiences. I appreciate it!
