Question about a Royal Gamma and Blenny

I have a question about royal gammas. I have a lawnmower blenny and I have read that royal gammas and blennies could both be in the same tank but use caution. I would like to buy a royal gamma but don't know if it is worth the risk. Does anyone have them both? Any comments?

I have a pair of red scooters, a Midas blenny and a royal gramma,
No problems at all, Gonna pick up a Red Mandarin tomorrow.

I had a bicolor blenny in a 30g once and added a royal gramma which the blenny harassed to death - just my experience _ i've heard others have had better luck :)

Clownlover,
I have a Royal gramma and a lawnmower blennie in the same tank. I got them at the same time though. They really don't bother each other at all. They just do their own thing. I am not experienced enough to tell you to go for it, but I have taken chances like that with my own tank and I was surprised at the outcome. So far so good! Good luck

I think that is because the royal grammas and the bicolor blennys are the same color.

Good point and also both like hideyholes

When I posted - I thought Clownlover was asking about bicolor blennies not lawnmower. I've never had a lawnmower, but I bet they'd be fine.
Lawnmowers are a completely different species from bicolors, also.

I have a Royal Gramma and a tailspot blenny in a 30G.They are good tankmates-never a problem between them. The blenny was in the tank for a while before I added the Royal.
I've had a couple of lawnmower blennies.I don't care for them. The are too aggressive for me.

Thanks everyone for all you're experiences. I am still not sure if I will get a royal gramma. For the past few days my lawnmower blenny has been hiding and I'm not sure if he is going to make it or not. I don't know if this is normal or not. I have had him since July 9th. So I am going to see what happens over the next few days.

No idea whats up with my gramma then if it sees another fish it will open its mouth as wide as it can then chase them trying bite em even my clowns what are double its size
