Question about acans

I do not have that much experience with acans. My question is how do they grow? Is it like LPS corals like Frogspawn where it creates its own skeleton like the branches it leaves behind when it grows? Or does it grow over what it is on or near. I have been told both. Thanks!

Both. It's forming new skeleton in either case, but they can either encrust, or sprout a baby off the side that flattens out as it grows into a full polyp, increasing the footprint of the colony.

Depends on whether you feed or not. Also, the size of the initial frag matters too. Smaller frags take longer to grow, but once you get many polyps the process is faster.
