Question about Automatic Skimmer 220/3

Hello,

I have a small tank ââ"šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“ 29 gallons with a tall sump below that holds about 15 gallons. Because the sump is tall I do not have much room height wise. I would like to get the 220/3 skimmer so I do not have to buy another skimmer when I get a larger tank. How much clearance do I need to get the cup off the 220/3 skimmer? I know the height of the skimmer is only 9 inches but I only have 11 inches from the surface of the water in the sump to the top of the stand.

I am not a big fan of the 220/3 and unless you find one in stock you won't be able to get one- discontinued. A 230/3 would be a much better choice. You would want to have about 8" clearance to get the cup out.
