question about b-ionic calcium 2 part

If it's a two-part forumla, I would imagine you'd need both parts for either a chemical reaction or to maintain the levels you already have while ONLY increasing the calcium level.

At least this is how I figure it after having read a bit about raising calcium levels just earlier this evening.

It is a 2 part formula. I have read other posts of RC member using just the 1 part to boost their calcium. Which raised it quite fast. They had to lower the calcium levels with water change.

I just want to make sure because on another thread
a guy is having the sa,e problem but hes using a diferemt brand of the 2 part and the repliers in that thread said that it doesnt increase calcium it just maintains the calcium levels your already at
will b-ionic raise or maintain your levels?

You need to moniter both calcium and alk when dosing the 2 part. Calcium levels won't increase without the proper amout of alk.

exactly. when using a 2 part, if you alk is in check and you calc is low just add extra calc buffer. if you calc is in check and your alk is low add more of the alk buffer. with B-ionic Part 1 is the alk and Part 2 is the calc. i used it for about 6-7 months and have since switched to making my own Randys Recipe 2 Part. much much cheaper!

could I use this to raise my calcium levels from 325 to between 400 and 450?

Yes you can!

I use IO and when I mix it up the Calcium is always lower than I like but the Alk is just about where I want it. So I add a bunch of the b-ionic calcium to get it where it needs to be. I also do the same with b-ionic Magnesium to get it up to where it needs to be.

Once levels are where they need to be I pretty much dose equal parts Alk and Calcium.
