Question about clams

I just recieved a few clams threw MO. On the Squamosa and Crocea and Maxima...if I look threw the inhalent siphon, I can see right threw the clam to the sandbed. On the Squamosa, its a pretty big hole, on the crocea and maxima, it a smaller hole.

Is this normal(healthy?) ??

I would not worry. I just checked out my clams and it's true. From certain angles you can look down into the inhalant siphon and see through the byssal opening to the sand.
