once its dry you are good to go. if you want you can use a declorinator and soak the sock in once clean but I have never had an issue and have been doing this for over 10 years. like I said it has to be completey dry before you can use it. In worst cases you can dry it inthe dryer just with no heat. dont want to shrink it.
thanks for the input i haven't had a sump nor a tank this big before so alot is new to me and i would rather ask questions than kill a bunch of stuff then wonder what happened
Well, Im in Mt juliet and have a few very large tanks. Anytime you want to come by let me know. I can show you what has worked for me (and there are many ways to do things) and alot of things that didn;t work for me hehe.
yea i've had freshwater in the past and i got a 55g in nov and have went from that to a 180g with a 55g used as a sump now and so far i've done pretty well i try to ask questions first then do something instead of trial and error technique if u know what i mean.
I bleach mine in the sink just to make sure nothing else gets on it from the washing machine. Then let it air dry for about 2 days or so. Just what I do.
