Question about flukes treatment.

I have a fish only tank. I found out that I have flukes in my tank. I did a 5 minutes fresh water deep on one of the fish to confirm this. There were translucent flakes like flukes felt off from the fish. How should I treat my whole tank without remove all the fish? I can go with hypo treatment, but a little concern with my clean up crews. How long should I keep the tank at lower salinity to get rid of flukes? Thank you for your advices.

You can use prazipro. You can use it in your display and it's considered reef safe for the most part. Two treatments 5-7 days apart is required. Might have to do a third. Make sure you have good circulation in the tank for oxygen exchange or add an airstone.
Alternative would be Hypo but you will need to remove all your cleanup crew as well as any corals or inverts since they will not survive it.
5 days at 1.009 should kill all the flukes and their eggs. Will have to use a calibrated refractometer and make sure to keep the salinity constant at that level for a min of 5 days.

Yep, I would use prazi too.

Keep the skimmer off during the whole prazi treatment or the skimmer will remove the chemical.

Make sure you have good aeration, however.

Forgot to ask what fish you are treating? Some wrasses could be sensitive to prazipro.
for those it's better to use general cure or go the hypo route (both need to be done in a qt).

My tank is mostly wrasses and clownfish. I am running the skimmer without the collection cup. Should I completely shut down the skimmer? How many days before I turn it back on? The fish are doing ok so far. Thank you.

Interesting reading thanks heuerfan. I will try hypo next if prazipro is not working. With hypo, I will loose all my clean up crew unfortunately.

Good news so far. All of my fish are doing ok. The fish that was covered with flukes are recovering nicely. He got his colors back and hang out with other fish. I will keep the skimmer off for one more day. I am planning second dose of prazipro this Friday and water change on Sunday. Thanks for the advices everyone.
