If a mushroom isn't happy in the spot that it's in it'll move until it finds a spot that it is happy in. Some reasons that a mushroom will move are too much current and too much light. It looks like you don't have a very deep tank and it's placed fairly high, you could try moving it down and into more indirect current so that it can settle back in and re-attach to the rock that you have it on. Also something to keep in mind about elephant ear mushrooms, they can be fish eater, there's a few pictures on the google of an elephant ear mushroom eating fish.

I know this an oldish post, but here is my experience with Amplexidiscus mushrooms.

Mine was over 18 inches across at it's largest, it was on the top of the rockwork under 2 175w metal halides in a 75gallon tank. When it out grew my tank I peeled it off the rock it was on and it left several small patches of it's foot behind, they grew to 3-4 inches in diameter in about 6 months. I had the parent mushroom in a frag tank with a young pair of Gold Stripe Maroon clowns, the mushroom ate the 3 inch male clown.

Pic 1, Amplexidiscus with a 12inch clear yellow plastic ruler reaching 2/3 of the way across it.

Pic 2, fts of 75g tank, shortly after lights on so mushroom not fully expanded.

Pic 3, Amplexidiscus in feeding mode.
