Hello
I started this hobby about 7 years ago with "The Package" in my first tank, and loved it.
I still have some of the rock after three tank transfers.
Anyway, I am setting up a new tank and would like to order live rock from TBS, maybe some sand.
I am starting with mostly dry sand (Topic Eden)--its a 125 gal. and a little too expensive to buy all that live sand.
I had developed a significant phosphate problem and believe my current live rock had soaked in it so long that it was leaching phosphate back into the water. I transferred that tank (rock and some of the sand) to a different tank to deal with it there, and that is why I am starting over with my "show" tank.
After all the work of transferring and starting over, I am a little paranoid that any new rock I get will also leach or cause phosphate problems.
Could you comment on your live rock and the potential for phosphate leaching?
Thanks
