Question about Mag Drive pump setup

Hello...
I just got my mag drive pump in the mail (thanks Lee) and was wondering about the installation. I tested it in my bath tub and when I plugged it in.....it went wild! It was doing circles until I held it in place with hand (it is a Mag 9.5). My questions is: How do you keep it secured in place while in your sump? I read somewhere about suction cups but where would I purchase something like these to hold it in place? As you can tell....:D ....this is my first experience setting up a sump with a pump. No need for my current (no pun intended) setup which is an Aquapod.

Thanks, Jim

You shouldn't need suction cups or anything for most installations. If it's sitting on it's base in your sump and connected to your return hose pumping back to your main tank, it's not going to move around.

Usually just by being face up the pump is being forced downward causing it to stay in place. Otherwise your PVC plumbing won't allow it to move anywhere.

Cool...thanks. I didn't think about the pluming keeping it in place. Also...when it was in my bathtub....it was on it's side with the outlet facing to the side and not upwards so it was free to spin around from the force of the out put.

Jim
