I just got me a Pacific Coast Chiller CL-280. It can handle a flow from 500-800gph. I was planning on using it on the return side of my sump with is using a Mag 9.5 at about 600gph. What pump do you think I use use to feed the chiller?
Right now I have the mag 9.5 with a tee in it so as to not push more water up than the tank can handle. I did split the line up into 2 side so I would have water returning on both sides. I am not sure if the mag 9.5 can handle the return and the chiller. What do you guys think?
I am not sure the Mag 9.5 will do it. I have a CPR CS90 overflow rated at 600gph. The Mag 9.5 is pushing up at 4 feet now not hooked to the chiller. I put a tee value in since it would push about 700gph. I have a little coming back into the return section now. Well adding the chiller on this loop would add about 3-4 feet of horizontal plumbing. I have also been told going thought the chiller would add some restriction.
So would I be better off leaving my return alone and adding just a pump from the return to the chiller and back to the return or maybe try adding the chiller to the return loop now. I was also thinking I could upgrade the Mag 9.5 to a Mag 12.
