Question about my clams

My two clams are hooked together by the foot is this common and is this ok. Plus does the color of the purple one look ok he seems to be happy. Im running a 150w MH in a 25g Nano

doesn't look like to be too badly hooked. i'm sure you can pry it off gently without much damage. the crocea on the right however looks like it needs more light, maybe the one on the left too. how deep is the tank
 
Its common for them to attach to anything that comes in contact with their base. 24 nano thats 18'' deep correct? Move them up higher. They could use as much light as you can offer them as that isnt really that bright for croceas. They shouldnt be on the sand anyways they're a rock deweller and thats where they'll do best.

I only have one place up real high and im afraid there going to take a leap and would hate to hurt them but i think i will try, hopfully they will hook to a rock. Maybe I will have to redo some rocks, somthing not as high. How do they in the wild get up on the rocks? I really find clams to be interesting creatures

in the wild when clams spawn the eggs and sperm fertilize in the water column. and the baby clams(veliger larva) are plank-tonic. after a week or so the settle out of the water and land on the substrate. if where ever they land is conducive to that type of clam then it will live and grow there
