So I have this large Achilles tang in my 500gallon reef display. He has ich very bad. I mean covered in it. This is my question who long can he live like this? I think he has ich for a couple months now. The weird thing is he acts healthy. He eats tons of nori, that I supplement with garlic aggressivley. He is also super fat. I don't ever seem him do the ich shake or rub himself on the rocks.
Will he overcome this??

I've never heard of anything like this. Normally the fish wouldve died by now considering it's been a month. The tang might not have ich could be decoloration from lack of nutrition. Just because he is eating nori and is fat doesnt mean he is healthy. Or it could be a different disease.

It could come and go. Did some research and I found out that tangs can aquire ich and it would not effect it. The disease seems to have no effect. For now I would keep the parameters the same along with feeding. Is it spotty or is it all over. Pictures?
