i have a 125g tank i have had a maroon clownfish for 2 years and it is about 2 1/2 inch 3 days ago i went and bought a baby maroon clown which is about an 1 1/2 , when i released the baby the big maroon went after the baby and i watch sadly but from all the reading it said that is what will happen until baby submisses well 3 days later and baby fins pretty tore up the same thing is still going on. the baby will hide in the rock and the big maroon will seek it out and chase it and nip at it, is this normal will they pair or did i just get another female and the big one will kill the baby ? thank you for any feed back

If it is still alive after 3 days it is quite likely that things will work out. I would have suggested smaller than 1.5" for a juvie but if he is behaving in a submissive behavior it might just take a few days.

i am a little confused about submissive behavior? what would that mean fish wise? the baby does keep swimming to the big maroon but the big one just seem to me that she wont except him the big maroon will seek little one out from the rock and chase him and nip the baby's fins and those fins are pretty tore up? should i keep them together or pull the baby out? thank you for your reply it does help

i thought mine was gonna die for the chasing but i decided to leave them alone until they finally stop and now they are happily married :-)
