question about pearl butterfly fish

Just picked up a pearl butterfly fish and then came home and seen on the internet that they may not be reef safe ? Does anyone here have one in a reef tank?
If its not reef safe and you have a salt tank fish only you can have it (free) just come catch it .Im in Cowlesville near Alden 14037

thanks gary ..that was the fish ...cought him today ..he was picking on my corals and even seen him picking on snails ..so hes gone... thanks

were you able to discern exactly what species it was?

I like to see these things through. I know of peope keeping xanthurus complex Butterflyfish in reef aquaria....................
