I have a pair of maroon clowns that i might be getting permission to sell soon. If so what would be a reasonable price to ask for a bonded pair of maroon clowns? they havent bred, but are a pair and have never fought each other.

you can sell them to my mom, that way you can come over and see your babies whenever you want. hahahaha Actually, today, my mom added a baby maroon, and the other dude didnt attack it!

well i just want to know what people think is fair, you both know how low i will drop prices. But i honestly dont want ask too much for the little clowns. I think i might almost have Stephanie convinced to let me sell them.

Things that I'd find important in determining price are:

1. The coloration (do they have a nice velvety red on pectoral and tail fins?)

2. Are they tank raised?

3. Are they currently hosting in an anemone?

4. Size?

5. Are they goldstripe or whitestripe?

From what I see at LFS and online, the GSM fetches a slightly higher price, approx. $5-$10 more per fish. But that's just what I've seen in the past (I haven't checked the price differences lately).

cool, my mom has a GSM that has paired up with a juvenile (which looks to just be a WSM). Good to kno, thanks Hans.

well i got the ok to sell the clowns, does $50 sound like a good price? they are the white stripe as far as i know.
here is a pic of them both:

that settles it, once the cheap mexican says he would be willing to pay i know i arrived at a good price. Ill be posting a new thread soon.

Adam you know how i am, i like giving out great deals. Kmiec123 im not sure how old they are, they have been with me about 3 months. I know the store where i got them had them for about 2 months i think. They are very good looking clowns as you can see but i kind of want to move in a different direction. I know for a fact my gf payed way more than what im asking.

Sometimes maroons, being more aggressive, are harder to pair up. Nice color, nice baring, I've seen $100 per pair and that is fair....breeding and hosting an anem. $300. Just a thought and what I've seen...Hope this helps...Carl.

Was asking age because gold strips take time to develop color and strips are white for some time. So could be a gold strip pair. Not sure on how long, have read a year think...maybe more.

now that you mention it on one of them i can kind of see some yellow on the stripes, they might be gold stripe. Im just not sure so i wont sell them as such. Ill set the price at $70 and go from there, i just got a couple pms just now that the price is way too low.

can someone close this thread? thanks

guys i just looked at the clowns really up close, they are both indeed gold stripe. The one with the partial head stripe has that one stripe full of yellow, the other one is starting.
