Question about Pulsating Xenias

Hi, so I am relatively new to the hobby, but in my research I found a lot of forum posters saying saying that Xenias are 100 percent photosynthetic and possess no mouth. Now I know they do receive pretty much all of their nutrition from photosynthesis, but that they have no mouth seems false. Wouldn't having no mouth put them in a different phylum? Sources would be helpful.

For as my understanding, they really don't have a mouth, they have branch that the food travels down to the main stalk. I could be wrong and that's just my understanding. I feed mine filter-feeding food such as Marine Snow and Reef Chili.

"Technically" they dont have a "mouth"..... They do have a throat though and do take in detritus and food.
