Question about rules regarding reef tank stocking

I have a 90 gallon tank with about 87 lbs of LR and was thinking of adding maybe 3-5 hardy corals. With this being the case, do I need to follow specific reef stocking guidlines or can I simply follow the general (which I suppose can be arbitrary) Fish Only stocking guides?

Also, can someone check this link out... even though I'm a n00b in this hobby, I think the stocking guidlines seem to be incredibly ridiculous.

Using their default multiplier, it suggests that 63 inches of fish is fine for a salt water or reef tank. Crazy...

Thanks

yeah but it also says 1 inch for 5 gallons they should take that column out If I understand your question correctly your corals dont have to go by the stocking guidelines you can pretty much add as many as you want unlike fish

Most corals are net producers, creating as much waste as they use. Some corals actually use more nutrients, like xenia. A select few create waste, like sun corals. It's ok to add corals as often as you like, just make sure that they are properly adjusted to your aquariums parameters.
