hello friends

my tank display with sump 450 liters
thanks for advanced

That is really up to you. Are you a handy person? If so, DIY shouldn't be that hard. Never handle a tool before in your life? Buy one.

I had a terrible experience with the Santa Monica scrubbers. The magnets were sealed, but apparently the sealant was leaking and the magnets started rusting and releasing gunk into my sump.

I think permanently running active carbon saved me back then.

I build my own DIY scrubber.
It works great!, no need much to build one and it's very simple.
Youtube people even making it too complex then its should.
The total cost was like 40$ with the maxjet pump vs 200-$$???
Save the money and have nice project for the weekend.

Built my own for about 50$(I had a spare pump). Couple Sheets of acrylic from lowes, Weldon from amazon, and about 3 or 4 hours build time.

I have a turbo aquatics scrubber and it works very well. Got it used and gave it a try. With my sump setup I needed a scrubber since the lights to grow chaeto were actually hurting my calcium reactor. I know you asked about Santa Monica but giving you another option.

He is on youtube. check him out. Might actually give you ideas on how to make one also.
