Yes, you can purchase a Wireless Wave Driver from us for $100 and install the part on your own. It is very simple.

Kind of a followup to this question ...

I also have an older MP40, and would like to upgrade to the Gen2 MP40W, but I'd also like to add on a battery backup as well. If I'm doing both at the same time, are there any tricks/shortcuts, or are they so separate that I need to just do the upgrade first, and then purchase a battery backup separately and install it?

The battery backup is totally seperate. It will work on the MP40 that you have now or on any MP40W version. It's a battery box, a charger for the battery and a cable to connect it to a vortech. Simple pulg, charge and play.
