Question about Sumps

1. How much volume does your return section of your sump hold?
2. How much water flows back into your sump when you shut off your return pump?

Please specify how many overflows you have and what kind. I'm in the process of designing my sump/fuge for my 120 that has two corner overflows.

You've probably already seen it, but there is a pretty good calculator here ... http://www.reefcentral.com/calc/sump.php

It depends on the surface area of your tank and how much water is above the teeth on your overflow. I have about 260g in my tank with 5- 2" drains, but a 4'x8' footprint, and I get about 45g back in my return

Heres a shot of one I built out of a used 55g. It cost me $72... The return area is in the middle : )
