Question about the byssal or what ever.

While I was redoing my rockwork, I slided a rock right across my clam and ripped it off the rock. I think I ripped its byssal. It was stuck to a rock before that, now I see chunks of white meat on the rock. Clam seems to be doing fine, but it doesn't stick to anything anymore. 2 weeks has pass and it moved around for the first week but it looks like it's found a place because it's been in the same place for a week. It's not sticking to the rock, and it gets knocked off once in a while from fish. Is it going to be like this for the rest of it's life? Or will it get some sticky-ness back?

if you damaged it then chances are not good for it reattaching then. you need to keep it upright best you can and hope it grows large enough to hold it's self down.
