Question about "The Package"

Here's a question for people who have bought "The Package" as well as Rich.

I'm pretty sure that when I am finally ready to start off my tank (it'll be awhile yet) that I will at the very least be purchasing my LR from TBS. Probably at least some LS, as well.

My question is: Are all those crabs & snails really neccessary? I've been told at least 'one' person exchanged some in to a LFS for credit. It just seems an awful lot of crabs & snails to me. But then again, I don't know much of anything, so I could be Very Much Wrong.

So, those of you who bought "The Package" what did you think about it?
