Hi guys! I had a torch coral die a few days after putting it into my tank a few months ago. It started to shed flesh until there was nothing but skeleton. At that point I removed the skeletal stock from the tank, but never figured out why it rejected my tank's water.
A couple of months later, I now have what looks to be a single strand of torch coral that has appeared on a rock. It is growing and is about an inch or two long now. I have read that this is possible, but I can't find any literature that really describes what is happening.
Will this single strand grow out and form a skeletal base like a torch coral I would purchase at a store, or exactly what can I expect?
Also, is there anything that I can do to foster its development besides keeping my alk/ca and mg within normal ranges?
