Hello,
I have a failed Tunze 6055 pump. It seems that the motor block has an electronic fault. I have two pumps actually, with a Tunze 7096 controller, so I've been able to test the power supply, it works.
I don't remember the exact purchase date and I cannot prove that it's covered by warranty, but in the process I've heard something troublesome: Tunze uses the manufacture date of the pump as a guide. So, in case I had purchased a pump that has been at the store for one year (not unheard of) I might be refused service for that reason.
So, my first question is: May I know the exact policy regarding this? As I have no way to prove the purchase date I am buying the replacement and that's all. But of course this policy will affect any future purchase decisions.
Second question is: how can a pump which is advertised to be fitted with effective protections, develop an electronic fault in two years plus/minus several months? There is no apparent mechanical damage, the pump simply stopped working.
I know that there have been no electrical problems in my installation because it's monitored and, anyway, I have two identical pumps configured in the same way. Just one of them has suffered a fault.
Needless to say, this is not an attempt to smear anyone. But the manufacture date policy is at the very least curious and, well, I am still surprised by the little durability of my pump.
