Question for all Flame Hawk owners

Considering a flame hawk for my aquarium. For anyone who has had one or currently does, was your flame hawk reef safe? If not, what specifically did it eat? Thanks!

Mine has been fine so far for the last 3 years in my mixed reef. My shrimp are quite large though and I haven't added any since the hawk has been there. Make sure if you want shrimp that you add them before the fish since there is always the possibility for hawkfish to snack on shrimp.

I had one, he was cool with everybody in my tank, including cleaner shrimps. Never had problems except with my bi color blenny who was a jerk.

I have had one for years. One of the most interesting fish--they have cool personalities. He is fine with all the other fish in the tank and leaves coral alone. A yellow tang I have for some reason seems to nip at him which causes his to jump into my overflow when he is fed up and then back out when he is hungry. Easy to feed, hardy and eye-catching.

only had a flame hawk for a month (great fish), before he jumped. Just make sure to have a tight lid. They like the top of the tank (rock, magnet) and are jumpers. did not bother any of my fish, corals, or shrimpl

Had mine for 5-6 years and its never touched anything although i haven't dared add shrimps as i believe its a one or the other situation and the hawk is much cooler. The only time they can irritate corals is if they perch on them but it shouldn't be a problem for them.

Had one for over six years (jumped) and it was a model citizen. They like perching on acros like acro gobies. Very personable fish.
