Question for Experienced Macro Folks

I'm researching macro focusing rails and was curious about a few things.

As always, your feedback and insight is greatly appreciated.
If you do have time, please respond with whether or not you use a focusing rail; if so, what kind and would you recommend that type/brand to others?

Unfortunately, none of the local camera stores here in Vegas have a single model in stock (they are considered a special order item). Is that the same with everyone elses local camera stores?

Take a look at Kirk's website. I've been using their ballheads since I got addicted to photography- great equipment and a great company.
I've never used a rail system because the subjects I like to shoot move around too much. Be great for small stationary objects though.
