Why do I keep getting this message saying I exceeded my message quota when I only have 1 message in my Inbox?

Click on private messages
The next screen has a top box with a pull down menu, select "sent messages"
Select individual messages to delete on the right of the screen
At the bottom of the screen there are options for what to do with the selected messages
