I got it from the guy in Fremont. thebicyclecafe is his RC handle. He had a lot of nice stuff but was sold before I got there ... I got only couple nice pieces. It was a package deal kinda thing. $20 a frag.

I'm waiting for him to sell his purple paly ..

For what it's worth, I've seen A. Valida in that color variation too. Regardless, I call dibs on the first frag

I don't think it's a valida. He did have a frag of valida with the same color. The body looks different though. The body of this one is pretty thick compare to some of the valida I saw but what the heck do I know ..

valida...its most likely incorrect and just a generic name we use for reference just like how we name stags torts, plating montis as caps, branching montis as digitatas, ...etc.
when i had my tank running i only had a few names for my corals: tort, tenuis, aculeus, valida, microthalma, blue stag, purple stag, tyree acro, paletta acro, pretty coral, roab coral..etc..LOL

If you bought it from some one, why not ask them what conditions they had it in? Just a thought

FWIW, lighting, flow, nutrients, etc, all have a play on the formation of a coral. More flow tends to bulk up corals. Id'ing on color and shape won't get you a proper ID 99.99% of the time

It was up high in the prop tank. That's why I put it up high in my tank too. He doesn't know what it is either ..

It's cool on the ID thing. I will just call it Elite Incredible hulk :lol: .. Wondering if I can make millionair out of that
