question for the skimmer pro's

aside from price, what is the difference between the DAS EX-1 Skimmer and the Deltec APF600? both have Aqua-Bee pumps and very similar dimensions however the deltec has a factory capacity of 270g. the DAS has a factory capacity of 125g. are these virtually the same skimmer, and will they produce similar results?

My understaning is about the same performance for almost $400 less. I read that DAS licences the design from Deltc and uses the older style pinwheel. The Deltec is using a newer pin wheel design in their AB pump. I'm sure the Deltec is a little better, but I do not think that it is worth the extra expense myself. But then again I know some people in this hobby that would spend the extra money just so they could say "I have a Deltec". I do not know what to tell you about the ratings, But it sounds like DAS is just being a little more realistic with there numbers. Because there is no way that Deltec would handle a 270.

Oh by the way I am not a skimmer pro. But I was researching the EX-1 for myself a few months back. I should replace mine someday. I only have a POS ASM G3 that leaks aroun the neck and always has nasty green saltcreep runnig down its side.

YEah basically the same skimmer.

I own the EX1 and i must say it is a great little skimmer well worth the money in my opinion
