question for those using pohls xtra...

I was just wondering if I can dose pohls xtra through a dosing pump, or do you have to shake the bottle before each use?

Also, this stuff seems to get pretty good reviews, is it really as good as some people claim?

You only need to dose a couple of ml a day and i don't believe you can find a dosing pump and a timer that is precise enough to do this.

You are probably better off dosing manually and miss a dose here and there than to automate this process with automation.

I tried to figure this out myself with Zeo additives and the only way you could make this happen is to have a very precise dosing pump, a timer that would time to the seconds and you'll probably need to dilute the phol extra. (should use distilled water and be careful with contamination)

It is simply too complicated for very little benefit.

Well, I have a couple of spare BRS dosers (1.1ml) that I can hook up to my controller. I, along with many others can verify that they are quite accurate.

That being stated my questions still remain. Is it necessary to shake pohls before use?

I've actually got another question as well. Is it necessary to turn off my skimmer for a period of time when dosing pohls like it is with some other additives?

No shaking required, great product when used correctly in a ulns

I use it along with other zeo supps. It works well in my tank and like the results. No shaking needed and skimmer can stay on.
