Question health of a scoly

Afternoon,

I wanted to check if this scoly is healthy. When I was at the store it looked completely red and the center ring didn't look this way.

Not big and open when I purchased it. I also not did a red spot on the side of it as well .

That's what I was thinking, I noticed little feeding tendrils from the center.

I take it they take a little while to grow.
