Sorry for this but I have yet another question or two.

Is it possible to have too much live rock? The reason I ask is I have a lot of room in my tank by going up. Now obviously when I get fish they need space to swim so I'm not talking about building a wall. But as the picture shows there is substantial room above my current rock level.

Another question is regarding corals. Us it worth getting coral from my Lfs, all the ones they sell are one pieces of rock already so I would just need to place the rock rather than frags. Or is it worth sourcing frags on bits of plastic or whatever they come on?

I'm not doing much with tank as it's still new (6 weeks), I'm not rushing things I'm just thinking in the future and gradually.

My first proper livestock are going to be added in 3 weeks, can't wait. Hi fin goby and candy pistol shrimp, with maybe a fire shrimp.
Thanks all for your invaluable input.

For the most part there is no such thing as too much rock however you will want room for your coral to grow and your fish to swim. You also will want to make sure you don't create dead spots from having to much rock however if you up your flow enough that shouldn't be a problem it would also be a good idea to leave room between the rock and your glass so you can clean it if you want. (I'm new so this is from reading not experience so if someone else has experience that says otherwise go with that this is just information acquired from reading)

Now is the easiest time to go for it. Just make sure your rocks have plenty of approximately sized holes, crevices, especially if you're going to add small corals on plugs. If you need to drill some holes in them to allow for new additions later, you be glad down the road that you did. Corals on plugs allows adding more variety, at a lower price than the big pieces of coral.
Right now I'm seriously considering adding height on the right side of my tank, before I add much more in there. The 2nd picture is a frogspawn coral plug I added to my tank yesterday afternoon. I took that this morning before my tank came into it's daylight phase. I paid just under $30.00 for that plug.

I had more, but I had a partial crash a few months ago, and lost several corals. My tank is almost 1 year old now, so yes, I've been really taking my time.

As for which to buy, pieces, or frags? I say take it as it goes. You'll know what you truly want as time goes on. That's what I'm doing, and my lfs offers both. Do your research, maybe you'll find another fish store within a reasonable drive that carrys more corals.
