Question on ASM-2 skimmer

I looking to purchase an ASM-2 skimmer. The question I have is the water level in my sump is 14 1/2 inches (ideal level) Giving this level it will be apprx 2 inches below the collection cup. Can I run the skimmer at this level or do I need to drop the water level for proper function? Thanks for the help!!!

you can build a little ghetto stand out of eggcrate and set ur ASM skimmer on top like I did

There is an idea. what would be the ideal water level with regards to the skimmer ?

actually not the skimmer itself just the pump.

If you have a stock ASMG2 with no recirc mod its ideal for the water to be 6 inches over the pump...As thats where the water usually is.

If its recirculation it doesnt matter.

Eggcrate, wire cutters and some hot glue(GLue gun) and ur good to go!
