Question on clams

I just picked up a 2'' and a 4'' clam from coral reef store and was wondering if I should try to glue down a small edge to keep them in place since my snails push them over at night and knocked the small one off the rocks.Or just leave them until they attach themselves

Also I picked up a bottle of photofeast and it says to feed 1-5 teaspoons daily.Most people I have talked to say 2-3 times a week.What is the average person keeping clams feeding.

It is best to place a rock under them and let them attach themselves. Do you have them on the bottom? Some like the sand and some like the rocks. Im not a clam expert but this is what i have read about my clams.

My clams would readily attach themselves to the rockwork. Just put them in a good location with direct light and decent current and withing 3 days or so they will begin attaching. As for superglue, I would not do it. The clams' shell is always opening and closing and if the glue prohibited that, it would not be good for the clam.

I would try somehow to block off the clam so that it can have enough time to attach on its own. Not to restrict the opening and closing of the shell, but just to keep it from falling over. Your rock work may have enough crevices to provide this naturally.

Paul is right on regarding burying a small flat rock in the sand right beneath the clam. They will push themselves down, find the rock and attach to it. then you can pull the rock with the clam attached and glue the rock to your LR. The sand will provide stability while it attaches.

I tried to attach my clam using aquamend and in a few days he broke it loose. Now it looks like he has a clingon hanging from his butt.

Thanks guys for the input.They have already started to attach themselves to the small rocks that I placed under them.
