I recently purchased some really nice corals from someone here on RC, he seems to get tremendous growth on his chalices. Color is amazing as well. He told me he feeds Fauna Marin Ultra Zoa/Acan POWDER to all of his corals. I can only find one place that sells it in the US.
I've been feeding my LPS about once a week, and feed them cyclopeeze (those red bars). They seem to like it, but I'm not sure they're getting all the nutrition they need. It's primarily a coral tank, no fish - so there aren't a lot of nutrients in the water. They do ok, and color up well, but no real growth. I had a couple algae issues a few months ago and cyano really beat up their edges and they seem to be having a hard time growing back over their dead skeletal shell (all three, acans/micro/chalices).
What do most people feed their LPS? I'd like one food, that really gives them the nutrients they need. I'm leary of pellets, it doesn't seem like they can digest them. And other life foods other than cyclopeeze seem to be too big for their little mouths (especially the chalices).
Any advice, or experience with the FM Ultra Zoa/Acan food would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
