question on green hairy mushrooms

I have a good size hairy mushroom and I noticed the center was getting bald lookin. is it splitting,dieing, getting ate, or is something stinging it?

I would say you're alright. Probably just starting to split.

my frilly mushrooms get kind of white when they are too close and sting/get stung, by another coral.

The mushroom(s) in question maybe getting ready to split as Got2lb stated or they may have feed.

Did they recently fold in on themselves after you feed the fish (edges of the mushroom come up and form a bag around the mouth). If so they may have feed on captured food. Sometimes the digestive tract of the mushroom will come out of the mouth after feeding or if something stressed the mushroom causing it to expell the food from the gut.

Can you provide a more detailed description or a picture?
