question on how to DIY RDSB?

would like to see some remote deep sand bed sumps to get an idea of how i want to build mine? i was going to set up a remote refugium but now i am thinking maybe RDSB. this would mean i would have no need of lighting a fuge and dealing with macro algae. if i decide on a fuge i could just put a small hob that can flow directly into the tank. does this seem like a good way to go?
thx

Depends on your goal.... Personally I would only do a RDSB in addition to a fuge. I think that the fuge will remove a ton of nitrates and phosphates, as well as act as a place for pods to grow. The DSB only really does Nitrates.

thanks so i also have read on here where some are using a separate 5 gallon bucket with deep sand bed remote from the sump for nitrate control. is there any pics that show how that is done. i want to do a fuge but i am concerned that the sump that was given to me will work or be enough space for macro to grow for 55 gal tank.
