hello
I've been using Kent two part and slowing bringing up my levels. Calc is up to about 380 and alk ranges from 8-11. Also dosing kent liquid calc. I've been using about a keg cup of part a and b per day. It's about a 230 gallon system.
when I dump them in now, near the output of the sump, i'm starting to get what looks like tiny bubbles that flow into the tank. Is that precipitation? Should I reduce the amount I put in now? I've heard that a tank can get to a certain level where you can't raise it anymore and in a sense gets saturated? Any advice would be appreciated
thanks!
Mark

You may want to post in the Chemistry Forum.

Precipitation should appear more like "snowflakes" rather than bubbles.

I do not believe you should be getting precipitation at 380ppm Ca and 8-11KH unless perhaps your magnesium is very low.

Perhaps you are adding both parts too quickly. Give the first dosage a little time to dissipate before adding the second part. As you know, the effect of mixing both parts is immediate precipitation and that is why the solutions are in different bottles.

cool thanks, my mag is actually at 1650, i raised it to control the bryopsis i'm having. I do add them right after each other, i'll wait a little bit
thanks,
mark
