How do you go about programming light schedules or anything without hooking it up to a computer? Is there a manual that comes with it with all of the "IF" commands?

You can download the manual from the support section of our website www.neptunesys.com. It does list all the commands available.
The editor on the controller is easy to use through the buttons on the unit. To edit/add a statement the cursor is placed under the keyword to be changed, and then the up/down buttons are used to scroll through all possible legal tokens. If you were adding a statement like: 'If Time > 00:00 Then LT1 ON', go to the add statement menu. With the cursor under the first token, press the up/down buttons until the 'If' keyword comes up (possible values are 'If', 'OSC', 'RND', and 'MAX'), and then press select. Now the cursor is under the second token position; press the up/down buttons until the 'Time' keyword is displayed (possible values are, 'Time', 'pH', 'Temp', etc.), and then press select. This procedure is continued throughout the rest of the statement.

Thanks for the information clp. Another question...I'm what I like to call "electronically impaired". I know the very basics about electricity (i.e. don't pee on an electric fence, don't stick your finger in the electrical socket, etc.). I have no clue what this DC8/DC4 stuff is, X10 modules, noise filters, etc. Does the Jr come ready to plug stuff in for the "electronically impaired" people like myself? All I have are 4 light ballasts, some pumps/powerheads, heaters and fans. If I wanted to use up to the 12 maximum outlets do I need to order additional plugin things? Sorry if the questions are a little on the elementary side but, like I mentioned above, I really have no clue when it comes to this stuff. Thanks.
