Question on the package

I believe the package has 2lbs of liverock per gallon. I noticed a comment from a member on here that it was way to much for their tank.

I would like to hear from other members on this. Was the package live rock to much rock for your tank or not?

The pics on here are amazing. This definitely seems the best way to go to get off to a good start.

I'd bet it was my thread to which jepuskar is refering :) what might have been misunderstood is I have a nano and it's an AIO so the 29 gallons it says on the box is actually about 22 so going 1 size smaller was my mistake I should have gone 2 sizes smaller. But dwculp is correct that Richard throws in tons of freebies to the point I gave away a solid 1/2 of them and my tank would be considered "full" by anybody's standard. :D

Trust me on this part, you will have NO problem finding homes for the stuff you have extra!

Ok excellent! I started to get a tank together a few years ago, but it fell through...now im back and as before..I keep getting sucked into 'The Package'.

Time to allocate TBS into the ever growing budget. :)

I got a 24g package for two 12g jbj nanocubes. I ended up taking 3 pieces of rock out of my two nanocubes and putting them into a 20g Long that serves as my bad boy tank (a really large crab, a bunch of gorilla crabs, and a mantis shrimp). Because the nanocubes are AIO tanks with compartments in the back, the space available is smaller than the 12 gallons actually claimed (and in terms of water capacity, I think they are only about 11g full up anyway).

And as mentioned, with the goodies Richard threw in, things were a tad crowded. I probably should have ordered more like an 18 or 20g package. Actually, I'm glad I didn't since I enjoy my bad boy tank with the 3 extra pieces of rock.

I have a 46g bowfront and ordered the 37g package. I ended up adding 6 pounds of extra live rock to Part 2 because I was afraid I wouldn't have enough, but it ended up being plenty. I had also ordered a few pieces of dry rock, plus I had some dry rock from a previous setup and didn't even need to use any of that. I think the rule of thumb is 1-2 lbs. per gallon. If you shoot for the middle with the TBS package, you should be fine.
