Question on Vortech - Night Time Mode

From reading the manual I was under the assumption that night time mode was simply a dialed back version of whatever mode you were currently running, yet when I place my MP40 in night time mode it switches to a constant current mode. Any ideas if I am interpreting the manual incorrectly or am I just not actually putting the MP40 in night time mode properly?

Vortech night mode is a reduced constant mode. It sets up for 50% of the max of your daytime mode.
