question on what I see my Mumps leather do

OK, I admit it I'm a newbie.

I have this green mumps leather that I've been seeing in the morning when lights go on with these really long, white,fine, hair like threads coming out of it (almost looks like smoke or that angel's hair that you use on Christmas trees). It also has it's "buds" out too. It seems to be waving these hairs around and they retract when they encounter something. Is it feeding, attacking, defense, or?

Maybe it's just taking a pee

No, I was watching it this morning and it can actually retract these things like fishing line. Maybe it's defining its turf?

could they be sweeper tentacles? Has anybody heard that a leather coral can have them?
