If I was to move my skimmer pump inlet from the third compartment labeled A to the first compartment labeled B will I get better and more skimate

It's my understanding, that water will be dirtier (more skimmate) near the drains or inlets to the sump, simply because it hasn't been filtered as much...

you may pick up more solids since it would be before the filter media. it would also be untreated because it would be before your media canisters. it would also slow the water velocity down going throug the sump if you also return the skimmer water to B chamber, cutting down om micro bubble transfer. i would definately do it since you already have the bh's avaliable for use. it certainly isn't going to hurt anything. the only better mod would be to turn the skimmer into recirculating and feed it directly with your overflow water.

I agree with these guys. Additionally, if you move the skimmer pump inlet to A you run a greater risk of a large piece of junk clogging the skimmer pump or the venturi itself. Not good.
Personally, I don't think it's worth the risk even though it looks like an easy modification. I'd leave it the way you got it and run the skimmer "wet". (Tea like skimmate).
FWIW- Becketts jam more easily/quickly than standard venturi driven skimmers.

What pump is feeding that skimmer, PCIALF?

Skimmers are most efficient if they are inline between the sump and the tank. Either advanced aquarist or reefkeeping did a breakdown of this about a year ago. There is no real increase in efficiency if the water can still bypass the skimmer. You simply increase the odds of a piece of debris clogging it.

John,
I have the same skimmer and I think the only way to increase the skimmate is to increase the amount or reaction time. I stare at the skimmer for some time and think "man all of the bubbles are either in the chamber or at the top 2 inches of the skimmer". I think that the extention tube that LifeReef sells is the only way to improve the skimmate production. However I think that the extension is only for the flanged models....Welcome to my delimea.
