i have 4 96 watt power compacts, 2-10k, and 2-420nm in a 75 gal tank.....All my corals died, now considering i have refugium setup and a huge sump setup, and all the chemicals are perfect the the water quality is the best....its all natural filtration....now the only thing to consider is the lighting...do PC's suck??? plz reply

I had the same lighting you do over my 75 and I was kept a clam, sps, LPS, all and any type of softies. My corals all did great. If the bulbs are old then that could have been 90% of the problem with the corals dying.
On a normal lighting time like 10 to 12 hours a day the PC bulbs only last between 6 to 8 months and need to be replaced, since the lighting spectrum goes [profanity].

I am thinking about making the switch to MH soon, I have 4x 9 watt pcs over a 90 gal.

What type of corals were you trying to keep?

Metal Halides are definitely better than PC's, but I wouldn't blame the PC's for the coral deaths. I ran PC's for 5 years on an 80 gallon with plenty of corals.

OK...UMMM, MY PAREMETERS ARE PERFECT AND THE BULBS ARE BRAND NEW THINKIN IT WAS THE PROBLEM NOW I AM STUCK WITH 4 EXTRA BULBS...UH, I DID KEEP SPS , ZOOS BRAINS STONEYS ANENOMES....IM THINKIN MY PROBLEM LAYS WITH THE CYCLYING PROCESS ITS ALL CYCLED ROCK ID SAY 30%OF IT CYCLED FOR 5 YR, AND THE OTHER 70% OF ROCK CYCED IN MY OTHER TANK FOR ALMOST A YEAR...I WAITED ALMOST A MONTH AFTER MY SETUP IN THE 75 BEFORE SWITHING ALL MY CORALS TO IT...BUT NOW EVEN NEW THINGS I GET STILL DIE ON ME...IM SO UPSET I BOUGHT A 1000 WATT 20K ELECTRONIC BASTTAST METAL HALIDE...;LETS SEE IF THIS DOES THE TRICK

If corals are dieing, then the parameters aren't perfect. If you ask for help don't have an attitude.

1000 watt bulb is too much over a 75, you would be better with 2 250's. PC's can grow just about anything except some sps, clams, and anemone's.
