Questions about a 265g Perfecto

Does the glass really have a green tint to it?

Is there any bowing of the glass in the middle being 30" tall?

DOe sanyone have pictures of the top to show the bracing?
Thanks!

Pike614,

I purchased my 265g last August and I absolutely love it. There is no bowing of the glass in the middle at all. I love the height of this tank, as it is awesome. I went from having a 175g Bowfront (which was made by Oceanic, the "Cadillac" maker of awesome (non customed) glass tanks) to the 265g. It does have a slight green tint, as I can only tell simply from looking at the seams. However, there is no distortation or distraction from the tank.
I purchased the 265g after seeing it on display at my local pet store. What a beauty.
I am still in the baby stages of establishing my full reef system, but all is going well.

Here's a picture of my tank prior to be filling it with reef inhabitants.

Yes, there are two braces on top. This divides the tank's top into 3 equal sections. I run 3 400w XM 20k bulbs. I do have a VHO system from my previous system, I just not have had the opportunity to add them yet. When I do, I plan on having the 2 VHO AquaSun Bulbs.

It looks great, tough decision between the 220g and the 265g, that extra foot adds a lot to the cost of the tank, but will mean more swimming room for the fish. WHen you look at the front of the glass from the side of the tank, does the glass have much of a bow to it? Also, how many guys did it take to get it on the stand? I assume the glass is pretty thick, so it'll take a crew to get it in!

Go for the 265. I don't think you will regret it. It will take four strong guys and it's best if you have as many suction cups.

wow, looks great, no green as far as I can see. I looked at my other tanks, and I can only see green when I look at the edge of the ghlass where it was cut. SO I think that concern is squashed. Looks like the 265 will be perfecto!

Beautiful Tank! The tank is very clean!

looks like the 265 will be it! I have to work on planning the stand and the sump room. Also, looks like a couple 20 amp lines will be needed too. This should be a fun project! A little different than my 60 cube!
