Questions about copper test kits & QT

I am using Cupramine for the treatment of marine ich and I was wondering is it ok to use a bio wheel filter and filter fiber while treating my fish (no carbon in filter)? Second question is about the Red Sea test kit for copper. The first test at .25 ml of copper was easy to see on the test chart but when I put the increase cupramine the test kit showed a very blue color which was not even on the chart. The .4 on the chart was purple no blue and by the time I put the second dose in the copper level should have been .5 even though the chart only goes to .4. How should I read this. I also did my first water change this weekend (My QT is 10 gallons and I changed 2 gallons) I made sure to add the cupramine to the fresh saltwater first before adding to the QT. do I have to keep adding cupramine even if I don't do a water change? Or is cupramine like salt even if the water evaporates the medicine remains in the tank?

I know it's a lot of questions but I would like to rid my tank of ich for good.

Bio wheel & floss are fine; of course , no carbon. I agree with scuzy above, SeaChem copper test kits are the easiest to read. Salifert isn't bad. I don't like Res Sea at all. When you do a WC, of course the copper goes too, along with anything else in the water column. Its not like make-up water where only distilled water evaporates. When adding make-up water from evaporation or a WC, test first and add copper as needed; before adding the water to the QT

I second what Mr.tuskfish said.

Although ideally you would be able to test the copper levels with a photospectrometer.
