Is the ballast capable of running 3' 39W bulbs or only 4' 54W bulbs?

If you use more than one ballast do you need multiple EVG-AP-2F units, or can one unit handle multiple ballasts?

How many L-ports does each ballast need?

Does dimming shorten the lifespan of the bulbs appreciably?

ANSWER - Watch this space all to be opened up in the new year, no limitations from then on. Ballasts run two lamps.

ANSWER - 2 ballasts per EVG card hense the 2F at the end

How many L-ports does each ballast need?

ANSWER - One port per ballast if you want dimming in pairs

Does dimming shorten the lifespan of the bulbs appreciably?

ANSWER - No not with the GHL

yes and they will be released in january if not before

The ballasts have gone for final testing to GHL as of today and if GHL are still on schedule then the controlling interface will be ready either just before or just after the new year.

In the new year we will have two options for dimming retofit kits available

I actually have 3 x 24w dimmable sitting on my desk right now

are these ballasts easy to retrofit? I have a Geisseman MH t5 combo on my tank and would love to have dimmable lighting but am terrified of ruining a $900 light fixture.

I can not comment on taking a Giesmann apart to retrofit but the kit will be very simple.

two options

1. 1-10V dimmable with plug and play power bar for easy wiring from the ballast

2. AC dimmable with plug and play power bar for simple plug and go wiring.

Option 2 is still under test, option 1 100% rolling out in january
