Questions about new Zoos

I think what I have seen aren't predators, but I want to make sure.

At night when I shine my red light on my zoo's I have seen a couple (2 maybe 3) of little critters on there. They have antenna and are somewhat J hooked in appearance (the end curls under the body). They seem to scatter once the light hits them so getting a picture is damn near impossible.

Do I have some predators on my hands or are these ok?

ampipods...most are good scavengers, but some ( small percentage ) can decimate zoos... but its a rarity that you wouldn't want.

sixline wrasse and dragonets love to eat pods. I wouldn't get a dragonet mostly because they're really hard to keep alive off just 'pods. They normally don't eat any prepared food.

Both of those are fish that I was looking at picking up anyway. I had heard from a few people about training Mandarins to target feed. Did you do anything special to get yours to take to target feeding Del?

I just turned off all the pumps ( which I usually do when feeding )..

then I waited till the mandarin was by herself... drop a few cyclopeeze granauals around her.. she took in a couple then spit it out.. happend for a couple of days.. till one day started to eat it constantly... then a couple of months later tried to mix in the soft pellets with the cyclopeeze... same thing happend till the target only looks for the soft pellets... she wont even touch the cyclopeeze if I put it there...

NOTE: Feed all fish first prior to doing this or else boistorous fish will bother her feeding... same as inverts.

I learned about feeding the fish first when I started feeding my LPS. If I didn't my clown thought it was feeding time for him and would take the shrimp from the LPS :)
